Fantastic place to stay. Great location, large, great for families. Walking distance to everything and great parking (we had a 9 seater van). Louisa is a fantastic host. Helped with everything we needed, even a Birthday cake. Highly recommended.
We traveled as a family of four with a 6 year old and 1 year old. This place was perfect and beyond. Louisa had baby chair, toys, cleaning and laundry service, and even helped us get a baby carrier! Literally, look no further and book this place.
As an avid review reader, I say with my whole heart LOOK NO FURTHER. Louisa’s place felt like staying at a loved one’s. The special touches, privacy, and beautiful treasures from her family that decorated the home. Her hospitality was from the soul. We wanted to stay longer and even considered rearranging our trip to do so. Beautiful views from every room. & The location was perfect, we had a car so having a garage was important but we ended up just walking to a from town every day. We will always remember and cherish this place! Thank you Louisa, we can’t wait to return!!
One of my favorite places I have ever stayed, anywhere in the world. It is the perfect relaxing retreat from the main area in Taormina. Louisa and Marco, were attentive, welcoming, and kind hosts. The views from the villa are amazing. Breakfasts were great, wine was great, everything was great. Would reccomend this to anyone and would love to come back.
We had an absolutely fantastic stay. Louisa's Villa Britannia was absolutely the nicest AirBNB we have ever been too. The Villa is emasculate, and had beautiful art and furnishings. We highly recommend Villa Britannia, and would stay there again if back in Taormina.
This house is a must see! From the very moment you walk up the stairs you are greeted by Louisa's lush garden. It's surreal. The house is well designed, kitchen is curated to a chef's desire, bar fully stocked, beds are comfortable, AC is strong and most importantly, the outdoor space is made for groups to gather comfortably. You have the best view of the ocean and neighboring buildings from every angle. It's a 10 minute walk from all restaurants and shopping. Garage is super convenient. Louisa is a gem. Honestly, a gem in the rough. You don't find hosts like her these days. She is so caring and kind, witty and bubbly, willing to do whatever it takes to make the stay enjoyable, even laundry service! We were so impressed with the quality we were provided, we can't wait to come back! There was even fresh eggs, cheese and bread waiting for us upon arrival. Louisa and her house truly made our stay so great. We enjoyed some of our best memories here. You should too! 5 stars for sure! XO!
STAY HERE! Villa Britannia is AMAZING. We stayed with our two small kids and the privacy was wonderful. Louisa went out of her way to make us extra comfortable, providing me with info beforehand and even sourcing a baby gate for the stairs and toys for the kids! There is a HUGE private terrace attached to the property (would be great for weddings) that my kids got to use as their own private play area - we sat in the shade and let them run off their energy and that was priceless. The home itself is gorgeous - you will not find better. You can tell this is a family home and a lot of time and care and love has gone into it. You feel instantly at home and relaxed. The living room has a lounge feel and if you’re a group of adults you’ll love sitting in there in the evening and listing to music while you sip wine. It is also a 10 minute walk from everything. Lastly, Louisa went out of her way to help and accommodate us when I was hurt on an excursion - she was our savior. 10/10 A+++
We are one of the first families to stay renting the entire home since Louisa changed from a B&B concept, so don’t let the lack of reviews steer you away! Because of Louisa’s experience in hospitality, cooking classes and being a true local, you are treated better than a 5star hotel - responsiveness, area recommendations (assist with beach club reservations, tour guides) , she even had snacks/wine available in the kitchen after a long journey! Air conditioning in each bedroom and kitchen. It’s about a 5min walk into town, but those few minutes give you so much respite and peace from the noise and tourism, you feel like a local that just wants to sip wine and eat awesome local breads/cheeses in your kitchen and beautiful porch with incredible views. Park your car in her garage and you’re done! Highly recommend for an authentic relaxing stay! Thank you Louisa!

Heavenly
Our stay at Villa Britannia will be remembered as a precious experience and holiday. This exquisitely decorated and oh so beautiful B&B is set in the hills of Taormina, Sicily, surrounded by mountains and overlooking the Ionian Sea. We stayed in the Truman Capote room, which has a comfortable queen-size bed, large private bathroom (nice large shower with plenty of hot water) and a most inviting terrace with table, chairs and chaise longue where we could relax surrounded by magical views that soothed our souls and cleared our minds. Our room was immaculately clean. Booking and check-in were a breeze. Communication with Luisa and Marco was quick, efficient and informative. They are friendly, warm and welcoming hosts. Although getting to this lovely B&B involved a windy drive up the mountain, we were provided with a video before arrival to ensure we found our way. It was very easy to find and not difficult to drive. We decided to rent a garage (on the property) during our stay, which served us well as parking on the roads is limited. We received a warm welcome on arrival and appreciated Marco's recommendations of the best places to eat and visit. Thanks to his guidance we made the most of our 4 days in southern Sicily. The breakfasts were always plentiful and considered our food sensitivities. Every day we had freshly squeezed orange juice, tomatoes, choice of cold cuts, croissants, eggs, toast and a choice of fruit/berries (oranges, melon, tomatoes, strawberries, apricots). Villa Britannia also offers cooking classes taught by Luisa. We signed up for an evening class and enjoyed the hands-on experience. The class was small (there were 7 of us in total) which made room for intimate conversations, lots of sharing and a lot of laughter. Luisa is a delight - engaging, passionate and knowledgeable about all things Sicilian. It was an informative learning experience that enhanced our appreciation of Sicilian cuisine and the history behind some of the recipes. I would rate this place 5/5 and we hope to return. Villa Britannia was the best place we stayed in Italy. You have more than bedrooms, you have a whole house to yourself. There’s a huge kitchen, comfortable lounge area, multiple garden areas, and terraces to relax and enjoy the view. Louisa and Marco were outstanding hosts, making sure we were comfortable and helping with restaurant recommendations and local info. The beautiful decor in the house speaks to its unique history and Louisa will give you a tour highlighting her family’s history there and the story of D. H. Lawrence and Truman Capote’s time there. Overall a fantastic home to live in Taormina for a few days!
What a wonderful experience! I had the perfect stay at Villa Britannia. Marco was the best host you could ever imagine. Engaging, prompt, courteous, and an amazing pianist. I would go back to Italy just to have one of Marco’s amazing breakfasts on the patio.
