Our cooking classes are hosted at Villa Lawrence, the home to DH Lawrence and Truman Capote, this historical family home is where Louisa holds cooking experiences.
You will be hands-on in the kitchen with our expert chef, who will guide you in preparing a delightful four-course meal, incorporating the finest ingredients and traditional techniques.
Spend two hours in the kitchen, complete with a mid-session break featuring an aperitif and food tasting. Relish your exquisite four-course meal served on our private terrace, where you can enjoy stunning sea views.
To complement your meal, a selection of Sicilian wines and homemade liqueurs will be available, along with coffee or tea served at the end of your dining experience.
But the journey doesn’t end with the meal! You’ll receive detailed recipes and instructions, allowing you to recreate your culinary masterpieces at home.

Booked this as a special family treat while our cruise had a port day in Messina, Sicily. I had initially reached out to Louisa via email about a month before our cruise and she was absolutely lovely to work with planning a menu that would be good for my fam. My wife and two daughters (18 and 9) had an absolute blast. From the moment we arrived Louisa made sure we had everything we needed. After a quick tour of the property we got into cooking. A bit of slicing, dicing and pasta making with Chef Elvira, intertwined with wine, laughter and one of the most unbelievable views made this a magical (and delicious) experience one we will remember forever. Louisa even took extra care to help my 9yr old with her pasta making technique. Thank you Elvira and Louisa!! Worth every penny! Logistics was pretty easy. We took the public bus from Messina to Taormina and a car service back to Messina just to ensure we were back before port time. Wish we would’ve had a bit more time to explore Taormina and hit one of their beaches. Next time!
Our cooking class at Villa Britannia in Sicily was nothing short of magical! Set in a breathtaking villa overlooking the city myself and my husband rocked up at 6pm not sure what to expect considering our last cooking class was a class room full of people for an hour. The evening started with an intriguing lesson about the history of villa brittania and the rich traditions of Sicilian cooking, which added so much depth to the experience. Louise, our host, was absolutely wonderful—her passion and enthusiasm for Sicilian cuisine were infectious! We felt so welcomed and involved as we helped prepare both the starter and main course. The dishes we created were authentic and delicious, and the fact that we were hands-on in the process made it all that more wonderful. The villa’s stunning setting, combined with the delicious food and exceptional company, made for an unforgettable evening like no other we have experienced. Louise’s lively spirit and deep knowledge truly brought the experience to life. If you’re ever in Sicily, I highly recommend this cooking class— you won’t want to miss it , trust me !
Louisa and her team offered us an amazing experience! The hospitality and generosity is unparalleled. Our whole family enjoyed every minute and loved leaning how to make a true Sicilian homemade dinner. The location is amazing with a beautiful outdoor dining area and an incredible view. The kids especially loved learning how to make homemade pasta. We highly recommend this cooking class. Thank you Louisa!
Our group of 6 friends had the wonderful privilege to have an exclusive cooking class and lunch with Luisa and her team at the end of May 2024. The setting is exquisite with a view over Taormina from the lunch table on the patio of a beautiful Villa. The food was of the highest quality without being too fussy or complex to master. The course is hands-on fun including making our own pasta by hand. Luisa is passionate and informative about Sicily and food. She communicates with charm and ease and was very ably assisted by the chef of the day who very patiently dealt with our group of active and armchair chefs! The food, wine and laughter was plentiful and a spectacular day was had by all. Thank you Luisa!
This was the absolute best excursion I have ever been on. I loved the ambiance, the fresh ingredients, and learning new recipes. Louisa is the perfect host and the entire experience was absolutely wonderful. We can’t wait to come back and do it again!
We had the most amazing evening at our cooking class with Louisa and her team. The food was the best meal we had in Sicily, and the ambiance of her beautiful home was truly one of the most beautiful views in all of Taormina. We cannot recommend Villa Britannia's Cooking class enough and have raved about the experience as one of the highlights of our trip!

La via che porta a Villa Britannia é soleggiata con una simpatica vista sul mare. Ma ecco che subito dietro l'angolo...MERAVIGLIA! Una villa immersa in un giardino splendido, ricco di fiori, alberi da frutto e un cactus secolare....e una vista mozzafiato su Taormina e il mare! L'accoglienza di Louisa e degna di qualcuno che rivede amici dopo tanto tempo : ci sentiamo subito a casa ! Il posto é stupendo, sulla terrazza il tavolo dove pranzeremo é già apparecchiato come si apparacchia per una festa speciale...e la Sig.ra Elvira (super cuoca !!!!) sta ultimando gli ultimi preparativi in cucina...l'atmosfera é conviviale e famigliare. Un pizzico di prosecco accompagnato da misto di formaggi locali e miele, prima di tuffarci alla scoperta dei segreti di come fare i famosi "arancini". La lezione di cucina é orchestrata a meraviglia: tutto é semplicemente perfetto! Louisa e Elvira condividono con noi i loro segreti e le astuzie per cucinare indimenticabili arancini. Il tempo passa troppo in fretta... Passiamo a tavola in attesa di assaporare con dovuta devozione, quento simbolo della cucina Siciliana. Solo il suono delle cicale e la musica swing fanno da sottofondo...il silenzio tra di noi fa da padrone a confermarne la squisitezza di quello che stiamo degustando! INDIMENTICABILE ! BUONISSIMI! Il notro pranzo si prolunga...si ride, si scherza...arrivano gli splendidi mini cannoli, il profumatissimo mandarinetto fatto in casa...e arriva anche il papà di Louisa che condivide con noi la storia di questa villa. Grazie Louisa, Grazie Elvira...ci avete regalato un giornata magica che resterà nelle nostre memorie fino a quando non ritorneremo a trovarvi per condividere con voi un altro momento di "Genuinità Siciliana" !
